 BLACK & WHITE EBONY
Black and White Ebony (Diospyros embryopteris) is a great wood from S.E. Asia, Burma, Laos. It is a rare member of the ebony family and is found mostly in Laos. It can be very difficult to work and tends to crack easily on pieces thicker than 3/4". The Heartwood is creamy white with a striking contrast of distinct black veins.  Very rare and unusual specie of the ebony family.  Machines well and takes an excellent finish and high polish. It is a very difficult wood to dry and most available stock is either green or a very high moisture content. Black and White and Ebony is also know as Pale Moon Ebony.
